Josep Nosàs (Barcelona 1919-2005) •
On the 20th anniversary of his death, we will have the opportunity to get to know or, for others, revisit the work of the so-called painter of sensations. Who moved between abstraction and symbolism.
The series “Volums” is one of the most representative, where the artist exhibits a clear mastery of drawing, combined with a brave treatment of color. He represents inconcrete forms, considered volumes, located in a non-real space where they develop a kinetic dynamic.
Josep Nosàs does not intend to surprise or break patterns in this series. “Volums” is movement, because he understands that the meaning of things and life is governed by transformation. Nothing is eternal. Everything is prepared for change. Without change, statism takes over life with the consequent risk of falling into immobility.
